Hiring Requirements
Before renting a vehicle from Rent Rites Car Hire & Tours, clients must provide the following original documents:
- A valid National ID or Passport
- A current Driver’s License (Local or International)
- Proof of residence or employment (e.g., Work ID, Work Permit, Visa, Utility Bill, or an official letter from your employer)
General Agreement
- Rent Rites Car Hire & Tours reserves the right to approve or decline rental requests.
- By accepting our rental terms, the hirer acknowledges full responsibility for the rented vehicle during the hire period.
- The minimum age requirement for self-drive rentals is 24 years, with a minimum of five years of driving experience.
- Accepted payment methods include Cash, Card, and Mobile Money. Full payment must be made upfront.
Rental Duration
- Self-drive rentals require a minimum booking period of 3 days.
- Chauffeur-driven rentals, VIP transportation, and airport transfers can be booked for a single day.
Chauffeur-Driven Services
- Chauffeur services follow a structured 12-hour shift to ensure driver safety and efficiency (e.g., 06:00 – 18:00 hrs).
- Any overtime beyond 19:00 hrs will incur additional charges, as agreed with the hirer.
- Wedding cars, VIP transport, and safari vehicles must be accompanied by a chauffeur.
Wedding Car Hire
- Wedding vehicles are available strictly on a chauffeur-driven basis.
- Standard rental hours are between 06:00 and 18:00 hrs, with overtime charges applicable for extended usage.
Safari & Game Park Policy
- RentRites Car Hire & Tours promotes tourism while ensuring the appropriate use of vehicles.
- Only designated Safari Land Cruisers and Tour Vans are permitted for game park visits, and they must be chauffeur-driven by our experienced tour guides.
- Any unauthorized use of other vehicle types in game parks will result in full liability for repairs and excess insurance costs.
Cross-Border Travel
- Clients intending to travel outside Kenya must obtain prior written authorization from RentRites Car Hire & Tours.
- Required travel documents include COMESA insurance and proof of Yellow Fever vaccination.
- The hirer assumes full responsibility for any border restrictions encountered.
Insurance & Liability
- The hirer is responsible for any damages or losses incurred during the rental period.
- If repair costs are below 10% of the vehicle’s insurance value, the hirer must cover the full cost.
- If damages exceed 10% of the insurance value, the hirer is responsible for the excess premium as specified by the insurance provider.
- The hirer must ensure the vehicle’s safety at all times.
Payment & Refund Policy
- Online and card payments incur a 3.5% transaction fee.
- Wedding car rentals require a 40% refundable advance deposit, with the balance payable on the event day.
- 100% refunds are provided for mistaken or canceled bookings.
Fuel Policy
- Vehicles are provided with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank unless agreed otherwise.
- If provided with an empty tank, the hirer must return it in the same condition.
- Fuel expenses can be managed by RentRites Car Hire & Tours, with costs billed at the end of the rental period upon prior arrangement.
Cancellation & Modification Policy
- Cancellation Notice: Clients must inform RentRites Car Hire & Tours at least 72 hours before the scheduled pick-up to avoid penalties.
- Cancellation Fees:
- More than 72 hours before pick-up: No charges.
- Less than 24 hours before pick-up: 50% of the total booking amount.
- No-shows: Full booking amount is charged.
- Refunds: Approved cancellations are refunded within 7-10 business days using the original payment method.
- Modifications: Clients can modify bookings free of charge if changes are made at least 72 hours in advance.
- Force Majeure: RentRites Car Hire & Tours reserves the right to cancel or modify bookings in the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters or extreme weather), with full refunds issued where applicable.
